In this tutorial, we will show you how to change the Administrator password in Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 R2. Whenever you need to change your server administrator password you can do it by following the steps outlined below.


To change your Server Administrator Password in Windows Server  2012 R2, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your server via Remote Desktop.
  2. Press your Windows key and type Administrative Tools.
  3. Double click on Computer Management.
  4. Expand Local Users and Groups.
  5. Click on Users
  6. Right-click on Administrator. Click on Set Password> Proceed.

7. Type your new password in both fields then press OK.

To change Administrator Password in Windows Server 2008 R2:

  1. Log into your server via Remote Desktop.
  2. Right-click on Computer and select Manage.
  3. Double-click Configuration.
  4. Expand Local Users and Groups and then select Users.
  5. Right-click on Administrator and choose Set Password and then click Proceed.
  6. Type in the new password and select OK.

That's it! You have now changed your windows server password!
