Facebook users were not able to connect and were redirected to an error page or received a message that their browser could not connect. On the other hand, WhatsApp and Instagram users were able to use applications but could not load fresh content or messages. ,
This outage is marked as one of the worst outages since 2008 when a bug turned Facebook offline for a day. Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram shared a message on Twitter to their users regarding this severe outage.
WhatsApp’s official Twitter page shared a message that they are working to fix this outage.
“We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible.”
A spokesperson from Facebook, a social media giant, took to Twitter and addressed people about the outage.
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”
Instagram’s communication handle on Twitter shared a message as:
“Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we’re on it!”
